We are five Amsterdam families who have been transforming our backyard, the Westerpark, into an open-air restaurant every Ascension weekend since 2008. So don’t be surprised if grandma sets your table and stops for a chat, a long-lost son serves you melanzane alla parmigiana, or the youngest granddaughter makes sure the music lineup runs smoothly.

Wij wonen en werken allemaal in en rond Amsterdam West en willen iets met onze buurt… iets leuks met én voor iedereen. In de afgelopen jaren is het Weekend van de Rollende Keukens uitgegroeid van een jaarlijks buurtfeestje tot een geliefd en nog steeds gratis toegankelijk volksfeest voor álle Amsterdammers.

The carefully selected Rolling Kitchens come from all over the Netherlands and beyond, bringing flavors from every corner of the world. Those who have visited before know that Rolling Kitchens smells, tastes, and feels just right. That’s thanks to the atmosphere, the artwork of house painter Jan Verburg, and the live music. We take all of it seriously. Across multiple stages, bands and orchestras play—from young Amsterdam talents to seasoned musicians, and everything in between.
